Reports to: Interim Director of Marketing and Communications
Compensation: $19.00 per hour

THE POSITION
The Marketing Assistant provides administrative support to the Marketing Team through the completion of vital recurring projects that help bolster community awareness of Guthrie programming, drive revenue for the theater and ensure the long-term success of the organization. This position is temporary, part-time, non-exempt and is anticipated to work a duration of 4 - 6 months from the date of hire. Compensation for this position is $ $19.00 per hour. This role will be required to work onsite Tuesday through Thursday between 9am - 5pm or 10am - 6pm, with a maximum of 20 hours per week and must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Marketing Support
  • Conduct grassroots marketing research in support of the Guthrie's sales strategies and goals.
  • Maintain contact lists utilized for grassroots marketing and promotional ticket offers.
  • Identify distribution sites for marketing materials and coordinate delivery/drop-off plans.
  • Support the Marketing Associate in managing the Guthrie's marketing collateral and maintaining an archive for ongoing use.
  • Review quantities of marketing materials at the Guest Services desk, Box Office, Level Nine lobby, and remove outdated materials or replenish as needed.
  • Execute a variety of in-house print projects, such as printing signage, making copies and cutting specialty paper to size.
  • Support the coordination of onsite and offsite marketing events to build awareness around programming and represent the Guthrie by engaging community members and promoting the theater's work.
2. Customer Service
  • Provide exceptional customer service to Guthrie staff. Take every possible step to ensure a positive experience for all.
  • Act with integrity and adaptability when problem solving to develop the best solution at the highest industry standard.
  • Foster a work environment incorporating the Guthrie values of Artistic Excellence; Community; Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility; and Fiscal Responsibility.
3. Administration
  • Monitor incoming patron emails and distribute them to the appropriate department/staff member or respond on behalf of the Guthrie using approved talking points.
  • Respond to ticket donation requests, fulfilling requests that meet the requirements of the Guthrie's donation policy.
  • Support the Marketing Associate in the fulfillment of program ad sales, mailing programs and invoices to clients, fulfilling ticket requests for recurring clients and tracking incoming payments.
  • Support the Communications Manager in preparing press summaries for internal and external distribution, and archiving feature stories and reviews.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • One to two years of administrative support work, with experience in marketing or the arts preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, with proficiency in Microsoft Word.
  • An enthusiastic self-starter, troubleshooter, and collaborative team member.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Can work independently in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Can work daytime hours (between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. or 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.) onsite Tuesday through Thursday. Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.
