Member of the University of Wisconsin River Falls Athletic Training Staff. UW-River Falls is a D3 school located in River Falls, WI roughly 30 minutes east of Minneapolis, MN. Provide athletic training services to varsity student-athletes at UW-River Falls including organization and administration of all aspects of the sports medicine program, injury management, prevention, rehabilitation, documentation, travel, and care. Function as a member of the Twin Cities Orthopedic outreach program.
Will work approximately 30 hours per week, nontraditional hours including evenings, weekends & holidays.

Essential functions:
* Serve as an Assistant Certified Athletic Trainer at University of Wisconsin River Falls
* Responsible for the assessment, treatment, prevention, documentation, and rehabilitation of acute, chronic, and emergency injuries and illnesses
* Provide primary athletic training medical coverage to practice, games, events, and travel
* Sport Assignment determined by Head Athletic Trainer.
* Determine athletes' readiness to participate in conjunction with the team physician(s) (i.e. pre-participation evaluation and post-injury/illness return)
* Communicate with coaching staff regarding athletes' readiness and health status
* Refer student-athletes to team physicians and/or specialists as needed
* Provide medical treatment and rehabilitation per direction of physician, medical specialists, and/or Head Athletic Trainer
* Identify psychosocial intervention needs and refer as necessary
* Function closely with Strength and Conditioning Coaches
* Maintains records and prepare administrative reports as required by the Head Athletic Trainer, University, NCAA, WIAC, OSHA
Additional functions:
* Provide education and work direction to athletic training interns as assigned
* Function cooperatively with all other staff, coaches, and department personnel
* Complete all assigned administrative duties in a timely fashion
* Comply with all rules and regulations of UW-River Falls, WIAC, and NCAA
* Educate student-athletes on the nutritional aspects of injuries/illnesses
* Any and all other duties as assigned
Education, experience, & other requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree Required/ Master's Degree Preferred
* NATABOC certification
* Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the state of Wisconsin
* Current CPR, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens certification required
* 1-2 years of collegiate athletic trainer experience preferred
* Ability to work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
