About the Job

35% Research:
Conduct laboratory procedures using animal models of pancreatic cancer to support a fast paced laboratory. Individual will be provided with written protocols and receive guidance from the PI and other senior researchers in the lab.

Employ various experimental techniques including DNA extraction, PCR, cloning, maintenance of primary cancer cell lines, and various animal handling techniques. Individual will be taught data analysis techniques using various software.

65% Laboratory Management:
Responsible for the maintenance of lab strain archives and equipment, data management and analysis, and assisting in the preparation of data for meetings, manuscripts, and grants.

Work closely with the PI to maintain laboratory regulatory compliance and ensure lab safety. Individual will assist in ordering laboratory supplies and maintaining laboratory logs.

Qualifications

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials

Required Qualifications:
BA/BS or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years. Proficient record keeping and or database management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently, problem solve, and multi-task.
Team player, open-minded, and willing to learn.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working within a laboratory environment.
Experience with small animal handling.
