Job Description

Assistant Marketing Manager for Ecolab USA Inc. in St. Paul, MN responsible for the Cleaning & Sanitization portfolio strategy.

What You Will Do:

  • Support marketing strategy, including creating and implementing strategies and plans for products and programs.
  • Use creativity, analytics and problem-solving techniques to continually improve the sales and profitability of the core product portfolio.
  • Support P&L optimization with product mix and product sourcing recommendations during customer RFPs.
  • Support the execution of programs and tactics established as part of the strategy planning.
  • Execute activities as directly related to managing the performance of the existing product portfolio, including product rationalization, raw material strategies, productivity enhancements, and supply chain assurance.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of product portfolio strategies in close collaboration with internal partners including Field Sales, Corporate Accounts, Segment Marketing, Finance, RD&E and Supply Chain.
  • Execute the marketing plans including tracking promotions to ensure corporate objectives are met.
  • Ensure accurate representation of Ecolab to the community with regards to product specific regulations and information.
  • Determine and execute effective solutions for product related issues such as forecasting of product sales for each warehouse, resolving product supply issues, and coordinating alternative solutions for product related issues.
  • Write communication briefs for all promotional activities and ensure that communications are clear and timely.
  • Leverage cross functional groups to couple knowledge of customer needs with existing and future technology capabilities.
  • Track and report on product line performance metrics and take corrective action working with product line manager as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires: Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Business Administration, International Business, Marketing, or a related field, plus three (3) years of experience as a Sales Specialist (or closely related occupation) performing product development, portfolio management, developing marketing strategy and execution of sales activation tactics in a business-to-business organization. Or, alternatively, Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Business Administration, International Business, Marketing, or a related field plus five (5) years of experience as a Sales Specialist (or closely related occupation) performing product development, portfolio management, developing marketing strategy and execution of sales activation tactics in a business-to-business organization.
  • Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") conducting market research and analysis to perform market segmentation using advanced analytical techniques for making decision related to segment priorities and positioning corporate solutions.
  • DE initiating and conducting Voice of Customers and Voice of Business to explore pricing models, sizing the market and optimize the supply chain distribution channels.
  • DE facilitating development and testing of value propositions, sales tools, training, and competitive intelligence as well as leading cross functional project teams for execution of marketing programs, initiatives, and strategies.
  • DE utilizing SAP (Sales and Products Database, Frozen Standard Costs, Manufacturing Costs), Customer Relationship Management Tools and Product Specification Systems.
  • DE developing Excel reports using advanced formulas, and developing and publishing reports in Power BI environments.
