Position Summary:

The Sewing Operator is responsible for completing a variety of sewing/stitching and hand-finishing processes safely, with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.

Shift: Mon - Fri, 6:00am - 2:30pm

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Must perform the following duties with minimal outside involvement:
• Operate a variety of different sewing machines, including Straight Stitch, Sergers, Double Needle and Walking Foot machines.
• Perform simple adjustments and preventative maintenance on sewing equipment.
• Follows all safety protocols
• Maintain a high level of quality per our internal & external customer requirements.
• Ability work with a team to communicate and follow instructions to execute simple and multistep sewing requirements.
• Check quality of sewn pieces, including test fitting pieces into size-specific frames.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstation throughout the day.
• Organize and identify need for requisition of sewing supplies.
• Performs other duties as requested.
• Works overtime as needed.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent and previous experience in the sewing industry.
• Basic math skills
• Basic measuring skills in both Standard and Metric units.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to work on complex jobs in a fast paced, quality focused environment
• 2 years of experience on sewing machines preferred
• Reliability through attendance, punctuality and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent reaching, bending, sitting, and other repetitive motions for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to use foot or knee controls of industrial sewing machines.
• Ability to lift 20lbs.
• Bilingual or multilingual proficiency in any language (including ASL) preferred
