Overall Summary

The PreMedia Prepress Technician supports the Account Managers and PreMedia for both Conventional and Digital print. The technician ensures efficient and timely creation of production ready files in accordance with customer and production requirements.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the PreMedia Manager, PreMedia Technology Supervisor and Prepress Leads to coordinate the execution of daily tasks relating PreMedia Team to meet all deliverables and deadlines, both conventional and digital.
  • Confer with clients to gain understanding of requested changes to content or functionality.
  • Assist with form artwork modifications.
  • Lithographic and flexographic platemaking.
  • Maintain platemaking processing line.
  • Responsible for the accurate and complete upfront letter text conversion process.
  • Cross train in applications to support the PreMedia Digital Content Team.
  • Perform other (or other related) duties as applicable or assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:

  • Ability to troubleshoot digital files.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of Kodak Prinergy, Kodak InSite and Kodak Preps.
  • Working knowledge of Dalim ES, Dalim Twist and Enfocus Pitstop desired but not required.
  • Understanding of 4/c Process and spot color conventional printing.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers, vendors, and IWCO supporting departments.
  • Analytical, prioritizing and problem-solving skills; the ability to work independently.

Education and Experience

  • Associate's degree or equivalent in Graphic Arts.
  • 5+ years' relevant experience in direct mail or related industry experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work 8 or 12 hours consecutively according to shift schedule.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to work additional hours, including nights and weekends, as required to support department and client requirements.
  • Ability to pass pre-hire background, physical and drug screen
